Welcome to la Casa Lloreda, an elegant, recently restored villa, that combines traditional regional materials & contemporary design. We chose to work exclusively with local craftsmen & women from the Michoacán region, all specialized in the traditional local guilds preserved thanks to the visionary archbishop Vasco de Quiroga. Renowned Basque architect, Miguel Arregui from Tao Studio, built & decorated la Casa Lloreda, using from Tzurumutarothe the traditional technique of adobe walls, from Patzcuaro; local iron work, from Cuanajo; technique of wood carving, from Santa Clara del Cobre; copper lighting, from Ihuaziu, beautiful woven furniture & fine cotton fabrics from la Fabrica San Pedro of Uruapan. You will discover as you enter La Casa Lloreda, a tasteful blend of traditional Michoacán craftsmanship with elegant contemporary design. If you enjoy the house and its decorative pieces we highly recommend you adventure out, accompanied by our friendly local guides, to visit the beautiful surrounding villages with their local craft markets & ateliers where beautiful pieces are skillfully produced.
Accommodations
We welcome guests who relish tranquility and beautiful design, La Casa Lloreda is located in the heart of the historical center of Patzcuaro, yet when you walk through the front door you enter an oasis of peace & calm with it´s three elegant indoor patios & fountains. On the ground floor, enjoy a spacious but inviting living & dining room with a well-equipped kitchen. Guests can choose from five bedroom suites with en-suite bathrooms all individually decorated with views onto the patios. A very special feature is the spacious top floor yoga & meditation studio with it´s stunning views over the town of Patzcuaro and surrounding lakes.
RESERVATIONS
Reservations; for our guests who truly enjoy their privacy we only rent the whole house and do not rent the individual rooms. We can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests but recommend 8 guests to comfortably enjoy the villa. We request a minimum of two nights stay (during certain public holidays we require a longer minimum stay). Upon receiving your reservation request via email we will promptly get back to you with availability and rates. Families with children are welcome. Though we are animal lovers, sadly pets are not allowed.
